In this book, we get to see that Sabrina comes from very little and has been raised by her grandmother after her mother took off and left them with a leering, useless stepfather who has no reason to stay in their house at all. Sabrina we’ve been in earlier books as the pre-law student who hates Dean. He’s been seen as the quiet one with the Texas accent, who doesn’t want to go pro after college. He’s been known as the redhead who suddenly decided to grow a beard, and the one who can rock a pink apron while cooking of the guys. Tucker is one of the four hockey players who lives off-campus with his teammates Garrett, Logan, and Dean. In this book though? It’s just a backdrop to the story and Tucker and Sabrina’s story exists outside of it. In the previous books, we got the college lifestyle of the hockey players, and seeing them actually playing hockey. I love getting to know Tucker and Sabrina’s backstory leading up to Tucker’s revelation in The Score, but this book has a very different feel to it than the previous three books. Honestly, the first half the book is rough for a standpoint of I can’t believe I have to revisit this utter devastation again. It has major spoilers for The Score and honestly, why wouldn’t you just read these books in order? After the emotional toll book 3 had on me, I did need a break (albeit only couple hours in-between) before picking up this book.

The Goal can technically be read as a standalone, but I wouldn’t recommend it. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help.

It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.īut the game just got a whole lot more complicated… Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight.
