I absolutely LOVED this story, but the male narrator doesn't fit what I envisioned the MMC to sound like at all. I really wonder who is in charge of casting voice actors for books because Tessa Bailey has another book about window shopping at Christmas time and the male actor in that sounds like Lindsay Graham-maybe that is actually the exact opposite of sexy cuz I couldn't even listen to the whole book. just imagining Dafoe in his mid-sixties, lusting after a sweet girl in her twenties made me grimace. It is so off-putting and unsexy that I actually found myself fast forwarding the spicey parts of the story to just get back to the plot.

it isn't, but the voice actor could be used as an ADR replacement for Dafoe's voice. I actually had to look to see if it was actually Willem Dafoe reading the male parts. as soon as it came out yesterday I started it and I adore the plot but the casting for the male voice actor is awful! I love Willem Dafoe, he is a great actor but I would say that his voice is the exact opposite of sexy. It was highly recommend by a friend who read the actual tangible book so I pre-ordered it on audible. I was really looking forward to this book.
